Protherm heating boilers are equipped with security systems. The operation of all components and parts is under the control of sensors. At the slightest malfunction, the sensor sends a signal to the control board, to which it blocks the operation of the equipment. In order to unlock and continue heating, the fault must be rectified. For this, the Proterm Jaguar boiler displays errors on the display.
Design and operation of the Protherm Jaguar boiler
Manufacturers of Proterm produce equipment in several series. Protherm Jaguar is one of the most popular series of mounted boilers. Unlike other rulers, this one is made not in Slovakia, but in Turkey. Models are distinguished by affordable cost and reliability.
Jaguar units are only available with turbocharged burners and closed combustion chambers. Power is from 11 to 28 kW. The presence of two circuits allows you to simultaneously supply hot water to the heating system and the hot water supply system (DHW).
Connection to a coaxial chimney is possible both in an apartment building and in a private one. The pipe is discharged through a hole in the wall. Air is taken from the street to maintain the flame. The exhaust of the combustion products is forced by a fan.
The control is mechanical. The presence of a display allows you to monitor the current state of the boiler. There are two operating modes: “Economy” and “Comfort”. The flame in the burner can be modulated as you wish. The primary heat exchanger is made of copper, the secondary is stainless steel. An expansion tank of 7 liters is available for pressure selection.
Error Codes, Decryption
When the code first appears on the display, a reset is recommended. To do this, restart the technique to eliminate a system failure. If, after start-up, an error warning about a malfunction lights up again, then study the table below. Having learned the meaning of the codes, you will fix the breakdown yourself.
Malfunction code | What does it mean | How to fix a mistake with your own hands |
F01 | Overheat protection tripped. | Inspect the thermostat contacts for integrity, tighten the connections. Ring the heating sensor. Replace if there is a problem. Make sure that the heat exchanger is working properly. If scale accumulates in its tubes, then heat transfer is disturbed. Water inside can boil and overheat the unit, which will lead to a malfunction. Descaling can be done with reagents. |
F02 | The NTS Hot Water (DHW) thermistor is out of order. | Diagnose the sensor and its contacts. Replace wiring or defective sensor. |
F03 | The NTS heating circuit thermistor on the supply line does not work.
F06 | The temperature sensor NTS of the heating system on the return line is out of order.
F04 | Incorrect operation of the ionization sensor. |
|
F05 | No air supply. | What do we have to do:
|
F07 | Damaged gas wiring. | Inspect the wiring, isolate or replace defective items. Tighten the pins to the connectors. Check the valve for serviceability. |
F08 | Overheating occurred on the water supply line. | Diagnose:
Defective parts must be replaced. |
F09 | The pressure switch is blocked. | Diagnose the pressure switch and its connections. |
F10 | The pressure in the circuit has dropped. | Check:
Turn on the water system until the values on the pressure gauge increase. |
F11 | The coolant circulates poorly in the circuit. | Clean filters from debris and dirt. Diagnose the pump. |
F12 | Voltage drops in the network. | Connect a voltage regulator. |
F13 | Incorrect connection of NTS sensors and electronics. | Reconnect devices. |
Other faults
In case of breakage, signs do not always appear on the screen. Sometimes these are malfunctions, noticeable without code.
The boiler does not start. The batteries remain cold.
- Open the shut-off valves for water and gas.
- Inspect the fuse; it may have been disconnected during a power surge.
- Set a higher heating temperature.
- Add coolant to the system.
The boiler goes out:
- Make sure that the chimney is passable and that there is a draft.
- Clean the pipe from contamination.
Take care of the equipment, regularly clean to avoid damage.
